• ‘I’m scared I’m not good enough’

This is just a matter of confidence building. We can assure you every new therapist has this same doubt in their minds. Regular practice with people you feel comfortable with will help you build on your confidence.

For example, performing a make up application on your best friend. If you go wrong they are not going to judge you. If you don’t like the way something has turned out they will encourage you to remove and start again, and guess what?! It doesn’t matter, they are your bestie after all.

• I really want to have a career in Beauty and complete an Online Beauty Course but I just don’t have the time to train / learn’

Save up a little at a time and prioritise what you feel is needed first and build from there.

• ‘I wouldn’t know how to find client’s’

First of all you have to believe in yourself and your work. Once you ooze confidence you will find it easy to talk to people about what you offer because, 1 your amazing at it. 2, you know your stuff and 3, they will love your passion for what you do!

Look at offering mini taster treatments within working establishments. Large offices are very big on the well-being of their staff and often allow outside individuals to come in and offer treatments to staff during break times to help relive any stress. If your lucky you maybe able to secure a contract where the company pay you X amount to come in once a month and preform treatments. Another option would be that you advertise mini 15 min taster treatments for £5/£10 through the companies intranet. This way all staff will see your coming, have your details, be able to book with you on the date your scheduled to visit but more importantly they will be able to mention you to friends and family leading to more bookings outside of this!

For example say there were 200 people working in the office, and they all have 2 parents and a sibling. That’s a total of 700 people! That’s before they have told their friends! A great bit a marketing we thing!

Think outside the box on how you can market yourself.

• ‘I don’t know how I would stand out’

Find your flare and run with it!

Promote that particular treatment.

Take amazing photos and content.

Publish on your social media platforms. Facebook and Instagram are the more popular platforms.

Use pictures of your work for advertisements and marketing materials.

Be confidant in what you do!
